The Greatest Commandment

Mark 12:28-31

We often debate the Word due to the lack of knowledge of the Word, the way we were brought up or religious beliefs. Why do we do that? Too often we question or debate what we believe because of so many opinions, however, if the Word says it, THAT SETTLES IT, Right? There are 613 commandments in the Word, ten of which God gave us to as the tenders of his heart, found in Exodus 20:3-17. However, there were two he said were the most important of all the commandments. Do you know what they are? The Word according to Mark 12:28-31 says: The teachers ask of all the commandments, which is the most important? Jesus replied, the most important one is this: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all you soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.

Settle the debate in your heart. If Jesus (The Word) said it, THAT SETTLES IT!! Believe it! The Lord our God is a God of love. He not only wants you to love him more than anything thing else in the world but to love your neighbor as you love yourself. You can only love God and others when you have true wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the Word. Stop the debating, get into the Word of God and get rid of mis-teachings, religious beliefs or opinions. Trust what the Word says.

We will dig deeper into these studies by going through a chapter in Proverbs a day.
